Digital Bangladesh and Khonz.com

“Digital Bangladesh” is a great movement ever I have seen in my life. All the people who are related with this movement take my gratitude. I will be proud if I be the part of this movement because I believe like Renaissance (14th–17th centuries) this movement will change our country. But it is not possible by only one or couple of peoples movement, it needs huge people of same believe.

I am not sure what will be the first step of digitizing Bangladesh but it is our responsibility to gather all scattered information of web together and all this information must be kept in such a way that it can easily search, index and referencing with date or calendar. From a research about Bangladeshi website we found that there are more than 10,00,000 WebPages in our country and only 20% of it are indexed by Google or may be less than of this. That means if we search anything on Google, Google will provide us the information only from 2,00,000 WebPages. So, maximum information of our website is out of the reach from the people.

It is the time to make our own crawler bases search engine. Let me give some brief introduction about crawler based search engine. Website or number of webpage is not fixed, it is increasing everyday and growth rate is around 2.4 % per month. That means each month 24000 new webpage comes on internet. To track all the pages we need a crawler bases search engine which will automatically index all new and old webpages and save it in a systematic way to search any information easily.

Our own people can use this information for research, writing fact based article. Foreigner can use this information to monitor the situation of our country through the eyes of our people. It will also improve our tourism, garment, IT and other industries sector by attracting foreign buyer through providing up-to-date information.

We are some young Programmer start to develop first crawler based search engine of Bangladesh khonz.com. We know it is not an easy task, and it is not easy to make a perfect search engine, we have to go a long way but we believe, we have started the first step and now it is the duty of our Government to keep it running.
